Two episodes based on independent artist Meganei’s animated adaption were ranked second and third most popular among the most-watched anime. What is this about?
Marketing one’s work is by no means an easy task for independent manga artists. However, getting an anime adaptation, no matter how short, is a huge achievement that also highly exposes your work. This also applies to Magnis “Shishunki no Obenkyou” series that is equally successful in print and broadcast media.
The novel “Shishunki no Obenkyou” depicts a normal young girl called Kyosuke. She too is a curious girl of her age who wants to learning about human anatomy. Kobayashi helps Kyosuke after a sequence of occasions and they place some bets in order to assist Kyosuke with his studies.
“Shishunki no Obenkyou” is a manga of six chapters which show how the time passes for the protagonist. Kasuga and kobayashi started their relationship as lovers after which they began studying about different areas in life together, placing bets on who will score a higher grade.
One of the reasons why “Shishunki no Obenkyou” attracts a lot of anime lovers other than the usual casual story about daily life is Kasuga’s beautiful design and characterization. The audience finds it very engaging, and it compliments to the story nicely.

“Shishunki no Obenkyou” Episode 1 premiered on December 17, 2021, and was a hit among anime with the aichi trend. In fact, the most obvious indication of its popularity is that it ranks fifth in Japanese portal Getchu’s top 10 sales for the month of May, despite the fact that it was launched half a year ago.
Naturally, like all the discussions, there was also the “Shishunki no Obenkyou” Chapter 2 anime that debuted in May. Trying to continue this trend, the series has already confirmed that a third episode is in production.
