Yasuhiro Nightow published the manga in Akita Shoten’s Monthly Shonen Captain magazine between May 1995 and February 1997. The publisher compiled the manga into a total of three volumes. Subsequently, the author continued publication under the title Trigun Maximum in Shonengahosha’s Young King Ours magazine between December 1997 and May 2007, with a total of 14 published compilation volumes.

The work inspired an anime adaptation that had a total of 26 episodes that were produced by studio Madhouse, under the direction of Satoshi Nishimura and scripts written by Yousuke Kuroda, released in April 1998.

Synopsis of Trigun Stampede

Trigun tells the story of Vash The Stampede, a nomadic gunslinger who travels from city to city and has a dubious past. Every city through which this man passes is totally devastated, causing immense damage, which is the cause of his nickname Typhoon Humanoid (Bull’s Burst in the Brazilian version).

It is precisely for all this damage that the Bernadelli Insurance Agency sends 2 of its agents, Meryl Strife and Milly Thompson, to find Vash and minimize the damage he always does wherever he goes. And the two end up discovering that Vash is actually not as bad as his legend tells and that cities are always destroyed for different reasons, almost by chance.
